Auto Tournament
Sign-in

Epic Games

Turn on Sign in with Epic Games.

Users sign in with their Epic Games account, for example for Rocket League tournaments. Auto Tournament uses Epic Account Services with the Basic Profile permission only: it reads the account id and display name. Epic gives no profile picture. See Sign-in providers for how accounts and admin access work.

Create a product and an application

  1. Open the Epic Games Developer Portal and sign in. Create an organization if you have none.
  2. Create a Product, for example Auto Tournament.
  3. Open the product, go to Epic Account Services and create an Application.
  4. In the application, under Permissions, keep Basic Profile (nothing else is needed).
  5. Under Linked Clients, create a client with a client policy that allows sign-in (for example GameClient or a custom policy with Account Services sign-in). Copy the Client ID and Client Secret.
  6. Under the application's Redirect URLs, add the callback URL from Settings → Sign-in → Epic Games in Auto Tournament. It looks like https://tournament.example.com/api/auth/epic/callback.

Epic may ask you to fill in the brand settings (name, logo, privacy policy URL) before the application can be used by anyone other than your organization.

Turn it on in Auto Tournament

In Settings → Sign-in → Epic Games, paste the Client ID and Client Secret, turn it on and save. The Sign in with Epic Games button appears on the login page right away.

Prefer environment variables? Set AUTH_EPIC_ENABLED=true, EPIC_CLIENT_ID and EPIC_CLIENT_SECRET and restart. They are imported once.

Test it

Open /login in a private browser window and click Sign in with Epic Games. If Epic shows an error about the redirect URL, it does not match the callback URL shown in Settings exactly.
