Auto Tournament

Use without a platform

Run scrims, practice and single matches with Ready Up on its own, with no Auto Tournament platform.

In development

Ready Up is not released yet. Details can still change.

You do not need Auto Tournament to use Ready Up. Leave the fleet url empty and the fleet plugin stays idle. The server then works on its own, and everything it needs is kept in small JSON files on the server. There is no database.

WhatWhere it comes from without a platform
ScrimsBuilt in. Nothing to set up.
PracticeThe practice plugin.
MatchesA match config you load with ru match load <url>.
Adminsplugins/essentials/admins.json, edited with ru admins add and ru admins remove.
Skinsplugins/skins/loadouts.json, or leave skins out.
Demos and round backupsKept on the server's disk.
Crash recoveryplugins/match/state.json.
StatusThe status endpoint, and ru match state.

Scrims

Scrims need no setup. See Scrims for the full flow.

  1. Players join CT or T. They see a welcome card and the ready panel.
  2. Each player types .r. .ur undoes it.
  3. When everyone on CT and T is ready, a 5 second countdown starts.
  4. If the knife round is on (it is by default), the winners type .stay or .switch.
  5. The scrim goes live.

Admin shortcuts that help in scrims: .roundknife (knife round on or off), .playout (play every round), .readyrequired <n> (players a team needs ready) and .whitelist.

Practice

Install the practice plugin. It is in both bundles.

  • An admin types .prac to turn practice mode on, and .exitprac to turn it off.
  • Everyone gets cheats, infinite ammo and a full grenade set, and sees flash times and damage in chat.
  • The tools are in Commands: .savepos, .loadpos, .spawn, .rethrow, .bot, .noflash, .god and more.

For a server that is only for practice, set always=1 in cfg/ReadyUp/practice.cfg. Core, essentials and practice are enough. Add the whitelist plugin to keep it private. See Plugins.

Load a match

A match config is a JSON file in the MatchZy and Get5 style. Put it at any http:// or https:// address the server can reach, then run this in the server console, or as an admin in chat:

ru match load https://example.com/match.json

The address must start with http:// or https://. A local file path does not work. If the address needs a token, set ru_match_token <token> first. It is sent as a Bearer token.

A small config:

{
  "matchid": 1001,
  "num_maps": 1,
  "maplist": ["de_nuke"],
  "map_sides": ["knife"],
  "team1": {
    "name": "Team One",
    "players": { "76561198000000001": "alice", "76561198000000002": "bob" }
  },
  "team2": {
    "name": "Team Two",
    "players": { "76561198000000003": "carol", "76561198000000004": "dave" }
  }
}

Then:

  1. The server changes to the first map and goes into match warmup.
  2. Only the roster, spectators and admins may stay, and roster players are put on their team.
  3. Everyone types .r. The knife round runs if map_sides says knife.
  4. The match goes live. Pauses, restores and forfeits work as in Scrims and matches.

Useful admin commands: .ru match state, .ru match start force, .ru match restart, .ru match end. All config keys are in Match config.

Demos

Ready Up records a GOTV demo for each map and keeps it on the server's disk, in game/csgo/ReadyUp/ by default. Change the folder and the file name with ru_demo_path and ru_demo_name_format. See Demos and series end.

To also send demos somewhere, set ru_demo_upload_url. The local copy stays either way.

Events

You can still get match events. Set ru_webhook_url to a base address and Ready Up posts events to it. See Events sent to Auto Tournament.

Add a platform later

Nothing needs to change on the server. Follow Fleet mode. The server then takes its matches, admins and skins from the platform.
